How to quote/cite items from the AIME platform?
Someone asked us via Twitter:
@AIMEproject Any tips on how one would cite something from the AIME-Project-Website? Also how do I get a Permalink to, say, an vocab-entry?

Every item in the T(ext)/ V(ocabulary)/ D(ocument) columns of the book has a permanent link, and each of these links are quite long. However, there is an easy way to shorten them:
For instance, let’s consider the document entitled ‘A project, not an object, the TSR-2 case — a gallery’ (in the ‘D’ column) whose long URL is:
http://modesofexistence.org/inquiry/#a=SET+DOC+LEADER&c[leading]=DOC&c[slave]=TEXT&i[id]=#doc-654&i[column]=DOC&s=0
This can be replaced by its short URL:
http://www.modesofexistence.org/aime/doc/654
How do we do it?
First, we take the root of the URL:
http://www.modesofexistence.org/aime/
and add:
ITEM (‘voc’ or ‘doc’) / ID (number)
The item number (ID) is generally the number close to the end of the long URL.
Below, we’ve put a few examples of short links for the V and D items:
http://www.modesofexistence.org/aime/voc/149 (VOC: ‘Aesthetic, aestheticization’)
http://www.modesofexistence.org/aime/doc/308 (DOC: ‘The Institution of Climate’)
Regarding bibliographical reference (How to quote/cite?), we would recommend using the following fields: Author, Title, Booktitle, Editor, Address, Publisher, Year, Url (BibTeX).
@online{blok_dis-economizing_2014,
address = {Paris},
author = {Blok, Anders},
booktitle = {An Inquiry into Modes of Existence. An Anthropology of the Moderns},
editor = {Latour, Bruno},
publisher = {Sciences Po},
title = {{(Dis-)economizing / (re-)politicizing aime?}},
url = {http://www.modesofexistence.org/aime/doc/130},
year = {2014}
}
(We suggest using the MLA referencing style)
Regarding dates, the French and English versions as well as parts of the book were all published in different years:
(T)ext: date of the printed publication (i.e., 2012 for the French version / 2013 for the English version)
(V)oc: date of the release of the platform (i.e., 2012 for the French version / 2013 for the English version).
(D)oc: These all have their own dates so please refer to the specific date of publication of the contribution.
